This practice specializes in matters such as public procurement, concessions, expropriations, state liability, administrative liability and compensation for public servants, urban development, among others.

We also participate in all types of administrative appeals and lawsuits to adequately defend our clients' rights.

Our firm has established itself as one of the most prestigious tax litigation firms in Mexico. We assist our clients in their interactions with various tax authorities and in the processing of available defenses to combat acts of authority that violate their constitutional and legal rights.

Our antitrust and regulated sectors practice offers comprehensive advice regarding various proceedings before autonomous constitutional bodies, the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE) and the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT), as well as the Coordinated Regulatory Bodies in Energy Matters, among others.

With regard to competition law, the C&MA team has proven experience in (i) merger notifications; (ii) investigations into absolute and relative monopolistic practices, barriers to competition and essential inputs, and conditions of effective competition; (iii) immunity requests; (iv) special proceedings before regulators other than COFECE, but requiring its favorable opinion; and (v) compliance with and interpretation of relevant laws and regulations, as well as advice on interactions with the various regulators.

We advise our clients on complex legal issues and legal risk assessments in various areas of public law, including telecommunications, tax law, public procurement, administrative liability, energy, and, in general, regulated sectors.

In the telecommunications and broadcasting sector, we offer consulting services, among others, on compliance with asymmetric regulations and the relationship between non-preponderant and preponderant agents. Our end-to-end services allow us to provide advice on proceedings before the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) and initiate proceedings before specialized courts and tribunals.

For example, we participate in procedures for the supervision of asymmetric measures before the IFT, as well as in indirect amparo challenges against various regulations, resolutions, and acts issued by the Institute.

With regard to media and tech, we have participated in strategic litigation involving technology platforms in the areas of transportation of people, goods, and food; lodging and short-term residential accommodation. We also advise platforms on compliance with both federal and local regulations.

Some of the high-impact litigation we have handled in this area are in the areas of equality and non-discrimination, combating corruption, proper use of public resources and accountability of public servants, militarization, gender, health, freedom of expression, among others.
